We are uniting to give greater support to our clients and to strengthen our presence in local communities.
Eighteen UnitingCare agencies across Victoria and Tasmania, including Prahran Mission, and Wesley Mission Victoria, will merge changing from a network of sister agencies to form one single agency. A new single governance structure will be in place by October this year.
It is a significant and positive step forward to give greater support to our clients and strengthen our presence in local communities.
The welfare sector is undergoing the biggest change since deinstitutionalisation – the move to client directed care. To be ready we have to evolve to a more unified approach.
The single agency enables us to create a more effective way of operating. This gives us the best opportunity to grow our work with disadvantaged and marginalised communities.
We can pool our expertise, create a stronger governance structure and respond to a rapidly changing environment.
Our local presence is important and our services will continue to be as active as ever.
Our service delivery, physical locations, staffing, programs, service partners and commitment to care will remain the same as they are today.
Our focus will never change, ensuring that our clients and all the other people we support continue to get the high quality, professional services they need and deserve.
If you have any questions or feedback, please feel free to contact us on firstname.lastname@example.org.
We look forward to your continued support in helping the most vulnerable members of our community to have a decent life.
